BALLET                                                

Ages 9 and up - PLACEMENT BY TEACHER

BALLET I -  Thursday 6:00-7:00

BALLET II -  Monday 7:00-8:00

BALLET III - Thursday 4:00-5:00

Cecchetti Classes - a study of the Italian method of Ballet by Enricho

Cecchetti.  It is a graded system in which exams are taken. (exams are optional)

These are technique classes and do not participate in recital.

Cecchetti Grade I -  Wednesday 7:00-8:00 (min age 8 yrs) 

Cecchetti Grade II - Tuesday 7:00-7:45

Cecchetti Grade V - Wednesday 3:15-4:30

JAZZ                                  

Ages 9 and up - PLACEMENT BY TEACHER

JAZZ I -  Thursday 7:00-7:45

JAZZ II -  Monday 8:00-9:00

Teen Jazz - Thursday 8:00-9:00

JAZZ III - Thursday 5:00-6:00

TAP

Ages 9 and up  - PLACEMENT BY TEACHER

Tap I - Thursday 5:15-6:00

TAP II - Wednesday 5:15-6:00

Teen Tap - Thursday 6:15 - 7:00

TAP III - Wednesday 6:00-6:45

ACRO 

Skills that involve the rotating and twisting movements of the body which are done in a slow, controlled manner. Usually employs the use of flexibility and counter balance.  For children ages 3 years and up.  All levels require teacher placement after Level I.

Acro II - Tuesday 5:00-6:00 & Saturday 10:00-11:00

Acro III -Wednesday 5:15-6:15

Acro IV - Wednesday 7:00-8:00

Acro V -  Tuesday 6:45-7:45

Acro VI - Wednesday 8:00-9:00

Acro VII - Tuesday 7:45-8:45

LEAPS & TURNS

MUST BE ON THE INTENSIVE TEAM TO TAKE THIS CLASS.  The main focus of this class is to make leaps & turns stronger.  It is a technique class and does not participate in recital. We will focus on flexibility, strength, turns and leaps.   

Leaps & Turns on Friday 5:00-6:00  For Company Team members only 

HIP HOP 

A style of dance that incorporates street dance.  It redefines and reinvents many early vernacular jazz dances and movements.  Backed up by popular music.

 

Hip Hop II- 10-14 years old - Monday 6:15-7:00

Hip Hop III - 15 & up - Monday 4:00-4:45   

        

MUSICAL THEATRE

This style utilizes all forms of dance dependent upon time, place and script needs. It has a strong basis in the social dances of each era and its historical influences. It has also been manipulated and influenced by individuals such as Jack Cole, Agnes DeMille, Jerome Robbins and Bob Fosse; each choreographer developing a style of their own. Musical Theatre is not only "danced" but also “acted". For dancers in Level I jazz and Up.

      Musical Theatre I - ages 9-14 Thursday 7:45-8:30

      Musical Theatre II - ages 11-18 Monday 7:15-8:00

                          

LYRICAL 

A fluid style of jazz dance blending movements from European classical ballet, American modern dance and ethnic dance forms.  The choreographic expression of the performer, with respect to content and projection, interprets the lyrics and/or quality of the music. It is fluid, smooth and controlled. You must be taking a level II or higher ballet class along with this class. 

Lyrical -  Monday 4:45-5:30

CONTEMPORARY 

Contemporary is a style of jazz that is very grounded and comes from the core.  This is the style of dance done at the universities.  Must be taking level II or higher jazz or ballet in order to take this class.  

 

Monday 5:30-6:15

POINTE 

By audition only.  Pointe is for the serious ballet student.  Students must be at least 12 years old and have 2 years or more of previous Ballet training.  Students must be taking Ballet III or higher.  You will need to know and understand the steps and their proper execution.  Auditions will be held at the end of the dance season for the following year.  No student will be put on Pointe until they are physically ready.
