BALLET I -  Thursday 6:30-7:15

BALLET V -  Monday 5:00-6:00

Progressive Ballet Technique - Thursday 7:15-8:00

This is a non-recital class that helps strengthen muscles dancers utilize.

 

Cecchetti Classes - a study of the Italian method of Ballet by Enricho

Cecchetti.  It is a graded system in which exams are taken.  These are technique

classes and do not participate in recital.

Cecchetti Grade I -  Monday 7:15-8:15 (min age 8 yrs) & Wed 8:15-9:00pm

Cecchetti Grade II - Wednesday 7:15-8:15pm

Cecchetti Grade III - Wednesday 3:15-4:15

Cecchetti Grade V - Monday 3:00-4:00

JAZZ

JAZZ II -  Thursday 4:30-5:30

JAZZ III/IV- Monday 7:00-8:00

ACRO 

Skills that involve the rotating and twisting movements of the body which are done in a slow, controlled manner. Usually employs the use of flexibility and counter balance.  For children ages 3 years and up.  All levels require teacher placement after Level I.

LEAPS & TURNS

The main focus of this class is to make leaps & turns stronger.  It is a technique class and does not participate in recital. We will focus on flexibility, strength, turns and leaps.  MUST BE TAKING A JAZZ CLASS WITH LEAPS & TURNS.

HIP HOP 

A style of dance that incorporates street dance.  It redefines and reinvents many early vernacular jazz dances and movements.  Backed up by popular music.

 

Hip Hop I (3rd-5th Grade)  - Wednesday 7:15-8:00

Hip Hop II (6th-8th Grade) - Thursday 6:30-7:15

Hip Hop III (9th Grade & Up) - Thursday 6:30-7:15

MUSICAL THEATRE

Is for Level I students and higher in ballet or jazz.  Utilizes all forms of dance dependent upon time, place and script needs. It has a strong basis in the social dances of each era and its historical influences. It has also been manipulated and influenced by individuals such as Jack Cole, Agnes DeMille, Jerome Robbins and Bob Fosse; each choreographer developing a style of their own. Musical Theatre is not only "danced" but also “acted". 

Musical Theatre II- Thursday 4:30-5:30 (levels II-V)

 

LYRICAL 

A fluid style of jazz dance blending movements from European classical ballet, American modern dance and ethnic dance forms.  The choreographic expression of the performer, with respect to content and projection, interprets the lyrics and/or quality of the music. It is fluid, smooth and controlled. You must be taking a level II or higher ballet class along with this class. 

Lyrical II -    Levels II & III   Tuesday 8:00-9:00

Lyrical III -  Levels IV & V     Tuesday 7:15-8:15

LITURGICAL

Liturgical is an interpretive style of dance. Students must also be taking a Level III ballet class or higher along with Liturgical.

 

Liturgical  -Tuesday 3:30-4:30pm  

 

CONTEMPORARY 

Contemporary is a style of jazz that is very grounded and comes from the core.  This is the style of dance done at the universities.  Must be taking jazz or ballet in order to take this class.  

Levels  IV & V - Thursday 3:30-4:30

POINTE 

By audition only.  Pointe is for the serious ballet student.  Students must be at least 12 years old and have 2 years or more of previous Ballet training.  Students must be taking Ballet III or higher.  You will need to know and understand the steps and their proper execution.  Auditions will be held at the end of the dance season for the following year.  No student will be put on Pointe until they are physically ready.

Intermediate - Wednesday 5:15-6:15

Advanced  - Tuesday 5:15-6:15

DANCE FITNESS

Dance Fitness is a medium to high impact workout using moves from Zumba and Lablast fitness which is a program started by Louis Van Amstel of dancing with the stars.  You will dance away your waist with fun music and weights all while learning some salsa, cha cha, and jive. All levels are welcome.  This is a drop in class and is $5/class!
